Why Loop pile commercial carpets Texture 1 Collection?

Crafted for Life

Reasons our Loop Pile Commercial Carpets outperform everything else underfoot.

01

Long-Lasting Commercial Durability

The tufted loop pile construction is inherently more wear-resistant than cut pile — each loop reinforces its neighbours, creating a dense surface that resists the matting, crushing, and fraying that affect cut pile under heavy commercial use.

02

Felt Backing — Stability with Cushion

The felt backing provides dimensional stability (preventing rippling and edge curl), eliminates the need for a separate underlay in most residential applications, and adds a subtle underfoot cushion that Action-backed commercial carpets don't offer. The best of both worlds for commercial-residential crossover spaces.

03

Solution-Dyed Colour Fastness

The Olefin fibre is dyed during the molten manufacturing state — colour runs all the way through each strand rather than sitting on the surface. Resists fading from sunlight, bleaching from harsh cleaning agents, and the cumulative colour loss that makes older commercial carpets look tired.

04

Inherent Stain & Moisture Resistance

Olefin doesn't absorb water — spills bead up on the surface before they can soak in. Coffee, tea, ink, food spills, and most common office liquids wipe up easily with mild detergent and water.

05

Easy, Low-Cost Maintenance

The dense loop surface doesn't trap dirt deep in the fibres. Vacuuming removes most soil quickly, and professional cleaning takes less time (and cost) than on plush cut pile — a real operational advantage for facility managers.

06

Economical Long-Term Investment

Texture 1 delivers commercial-grade durability at an accessible price point. Its long service life — thanks to fade resistance, stain resistance, and matting resistance — reduces replacement frequency, which is where the real cost savings accumulate over time.

07

Substantial 6-7mm Pile Height

Thicker than typical commercial loop pile specifications, delivering a more premium look and underfoot feel. The extra height also contributes to thermal insulation and acoustic dampening — rooms feel warmer and quieter.

08

Dense 1400 GSM Construction

Denser than a typical residential loop carpet but lighter than heavy industrial commercial specifications — striking a balance that suits most office and hospitality environments where both durability and visual appeal matter.

09

Anti-Static & Mildew-Resistant

Engineered with anti-static properties (no unpleasant shocks in AC-controlled offices) and inherent resistance to mildew and mould — a practical benefit in humid climates and below-grade installations.

10

Seamless 4 m Width

The generous 4 m (13.16 ft) standard width covers most commercial rooms without visible seams — important for maintaining a professional, unified appearance across large office floors and hotel corridors.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the difference between Texture 1 and Texture 2?

Both are 100% Solution Dyed Olefin loop pile carpets from Furnishing Centre, but they serve slightly different needs. Texture 1 (this product) uses Felt Backing, is 6-7mm thick at 1400 GSM — thicker, heavier, more comfortable underfoot, better for offices and hospitality. Texture 2 uses Action Backing, is 5.5mm thick at 1230 GSM — lighter, harder-wearing, better for pure commercial and heavy-traffic use. Choose Texture 1 when you want commercial durability with a touch more comfort; choose Texture 2 when pure durability and economy are the priority.

Why choose loop pile over cut pile for an office?

Loop pile is the industry-standard specification for office and commercial environments because the uncut loops interlock with each other, creating a much denser and more wear-resistant surface than cut pile. Rolling office chairs, heavy footfall, and moved furniture all cause cut pile to mat and crush quickly — loop pile resists all of this. Loop pile also hides footprints and vacuum tracks better than cut pile, keeping the floor looking professional between cleanings.

Is felt backing suitable for commercial use?

Yes — felt backing is entirely suitable for commercial installations, and in fact preferred in some contexts. It provides dimensional stability (like Action Backing), adds a cushioning layer that reduces underfoot fatigue for staff, and often eliminates the need for a separate underlay. The trade-off: felt-backed carpet is typically installed via tack-strip, while Action-backed commercial carpet can also be direct-glued for very heavy-use environments. For most office, hospitality, and institutional installations, felt backing is excellent.

How does Texture 1 compare to residential plush cut pile carpets?

Texture 1 is denser, more durable, and easier to maintain than residential plush cut pile — at the expense of the plush underfoot softness. If you want carpet in a formal living room, use a cut pile specification like Divine or Splendid. If you want carpet in a home office, family room, basement, or rental property, Texture 1's durability profile is much better suited — and it still feels substantial thanks to the 6-7mm pile and felt backing.

Will the loops snag or unravel?

Loop pile carpets can occasionally catch a loop on a sharp heel, pet claw, or piece of furniture — this is normal and easily remedied. If a loop gets snagged, never pull it (that can cause unraveling). Instead, carefully clip the snagged loop flush with scissors. The surrounding loops are independent, so a clipped snag won't spread. This is standard practice for all loop pile carpets.

How do I clean and maintain Texture 1?

Vacuum weekly with any standard vacuum — loop pile handles aggressive beater bars without damage (unlike cut pile, which can fuzz). Blot spills immediately with a clean, dry white cloth; the Olefin fibre makes most spills easy to remove with water and mild detergent. Schedule professional hot-water extraction every 6-12 months for commercial installations, every 12-18 months for residential. Never rub aggressively at stains — work from the outside inward.

Is Texture 1 suitable for homes with pets?

Yes — it's one of the most pet-friendly carpet specifications available. The Olefin fibre doesn't absorb moisture (so pet accidents can be blotted up before they set), doesn't harbour dust mites or allergens, and the dense loop construction hides paw prints and minor soiling between cleanings. Just remember to clip any snagged loops rather than pulling them.

Does solution-dyed Olefin really resist fading?

Yes — solution-dyed means the pigment is added to the polymer before the fibre is spun, so the colour is integral to the fibre rather than applied to the surface. Standard surface-dyed fibres can fade under UV exposure or strong cleaning agents; solution-dyed Olefin is essentially colour-fast for the life of the carpet. This is a major reason it's specified for commercial interiors that receive strong overhead lighting or natural sunlight through windows.
