Cut & Loop Pile — also called 'high-low' or 'sculpted' construction — is a carpet style where some loops are cut open and others are left intact during manufacture. The cut loops form the 'high' tufts (soft, plush-looking) and the uncut loops form the 'low' surface (structured, resilient). The result is a sculpted two-level texture that's more visually interesting than either pure cut pile or pure loop pile, with practical wear-hiding benefits built in.

Plush cut pile (Divine, Splendid, Plush) delivers traditional luxury — thick, soft, uniformly cushioned. High Low is a different category — thinner pile (6-7mm vs 10-12mm), more contemporary, with textural character built into the weave rather than piled on top. Choose plush for formal/luxury. Choose High Low for modern textural interiors, lofts, creative spaces, and hospitality corridors.

Yes — Olefin and Polypropylene refer to the same fibre family. 'Solution-dyed' means the colour is added to the fibre during the molten manufacturing state, before the strand is spun. This locks colour through the entire fibre cross-section, delivering exceptional resistance to fading, bleaching, and aggressive cleaning compared to surface-dyed alternatives.

Yes — 6-7mm is the standard thickness range for sculpted cut & loop designs. The construction is intentionally shorter than plush so the high-low pattern stays crisp and doesn't flatten. It still delivers genuine underfoot comfort — particularly over a good underlay — while keeping the textural definition that makes the design distinctive.

Both share the same specifications (100% Solution Dyed Olefin, felt backing, 6-7mm, 1500 GSM, 3.65 m width) but use different cut-and-loop pattern layouts for slightly different surface characters. It doesn't absorb moisture (pet accidents and spills can be blotted up before they set), doesn't harbour dust mites, and the colours hold up well to cleaning. The high-low texture also hides paw prints and minor soiling exceptionally well.

Vacuum weekly using suction-only or a gentle beater bar setting. Avoid aggressive rotating brushes — they can fuzz the cut portions and pull at the uncut loops over time. Blot spills immediately with a clean white cloth; the Olefin fibre makes most spills easy to remove with mild detergent and water. Never pull on a loop that's been snagged — clip it flat with scissors to prevent unraveling. Schedule professional hot-water extraction every 12-18 months.
